The Proposal

It is only a few months until the big day and plans are well under way now. I’ve been poring over embellishments and endless books on vintage weddings. A very special occasion came up and Paul and I were invited to the lovely Old Westbury Gardens. I’m now brimming with wistful ideas and have come home with a few images from the grounds.

The Wedding Party

It's nearly March, which means it's almost time for April market! I am sketching, water coloring, and immersing myself in inspiration. Right now I am obsessed with this vintage styled editorial shot by Arthur Elgort of Sasha... And of course it's also giving me inspiration for my upcoming wedding in October. I'm thinking of a dreamy mix of tulle, lace, and flowers for the bridesmaids, in beautiful shades of nude, blush, and pinks with a touch of taupe. Look for a post soon on my sketches for the bridesmaids, as well as what I have planned for April market!

18 Paper Lanterns, Polka Dot Pin-wheels, and Vintage Milk Glass

I grew up in a house rich with Asian inspired rose-wood furniture and an extensive collection of vintage milk glass, collected by my father throughout the years. When it came time to decorate for the engagement, I had the fun challenge of highlighting the furniture with a few special added touches: string lights, pinwheels and pennant strings from BHLDN, and 18 paper lanterns from Pottery Barn. Here are a few photos of the results...

pinwheels and pennant strings from BHLDN
18 paper lanterns "floating" out of a trunk
string lights accent the pennant strings
paper umbrellas from Thailand placed atop wicker dividers

milk glass used for the tea ceremony

and more milk glass brimming full of sugary sweet baby roses

Victorian Chic

Michal Negrin’s Victorian inspired jewelry collection beautifully shot by Culi Cohen

Negrin's gold plated pieces, enamel medallions twinkling with Swarokski crystals, and feather plumage flourishing from delicate head pieces all shine as the stars in this lovely photo shoot.
